VOTE NO ON AMENDMENT 27!

Amendment 27 will give millionaire and incumbent candidates an unfair advantage. It sets impossibly low donation limits to ordinary citizens running for office. Self-Financed (Millionaire) candidates will have NO RESTRICTIONS.

Amendment 27 will shift political contributions from accountable candidates to unaccountable political education committees, resulting in MORE NEGATIVE ADVERTISING.

Amendment 27 will make elected officials indebted to and controlled by EVEN MORE POWERFUL special-interest groups campaigning on their behalf without financial constraints.

Amendment 27 will give party bosses an incentive to RIG PRIMARY ELECTIONS with phantom candidates in order to raise additional money, but not exceed the spending limits imposed.

Amendment 27 will have large sections declared UNCONSTITUTIONAL by the courts, as occurred with Amendment 15 in 1999. Without those sections, all campaign finance laws in Colorado will be incoherent and unenforceable.

Amendment 27 will have the EXACT OPPOSITE EFFECT on Special-Interests and big money in Colorado politics than what its proponent's claim!

Colorado currently has tough campaign contribution disclosure laws, and reasonable limits just put into effect in 2000.

Colorado's State Legislature currently has over 80% of its members from everyday professions -- Teachers, Nurses, Painters, Small-Business Owners, and Homemakers. Less than 20% are Lawyers and Doctors. Amendment 27 will reverse those numbers.

Amendment 27 is a Special-Interest wolf in John Q. Publicís clothing.
